Coaching is increasingly being recognized as an essential learning strategy for leaders from all walks of life, those on the front lines responsible for maintaining healthy relationships in their organizations while dealing with complexity, uncertainty and transition. Elliott Clarke & Associates offers coaching programs that are designed to help clergy and other church leaders identify and move forward toward their goals by drawing on their own creativity and resourcefulness to create and manage change. Our work is grounded in an understanding of congregational and vocational context, and we use tools of reflection, inquiry and action planning to facilitate learning and progress.

Opportunities for coaching could include:
• beginning a new position in ministry
• undertaking a challenging new project
• taking stock of one’s leadership and potential for growth
• considering a move to a new opportunity
• dealing with a difficult workplace issue or relationship.

While each coaching engagement is customized to meet the needs of participants, the program focuses on defining goals, identifying resources including participant’s own strengths and gifts, uncovering options and priorities, and developing strategies for action.

Duration of coaching depends on the need and can vary from a short-term engagement to a longer-term process of several months. Sessions can be held at the client’s office, at the Guesthouse of the Sisterhood of St. John the Divine in Toronto (our Associate), or via phone or Skype.
